Meet Duke and TJ - Peggy Adams Pet Stars!

Dec 05, 2014 -- 11:44am

Meet Peggy Adams' Pet Stars of the Week, Duke and TJ!

Duke: 7 year old 64 lb. male Old English Bulldog

Duke is a very handsome young dog who's been at the shelter for a short while. He's received lots of socialization and special care while here at the shelter. He's sometimes a little overwhelmed when meeting new people and may come across as being standoffish.  His defensiveness is quickly overcome and he warms up if you give him a few minutes to get comfortable first.  Once he's had the chance to sniff you and investigate his surroundings, he'll let you know he's ready for pets by coming over and sitting by you. He’s a calm, well-mannered and relaxed dog who enjoys the leisurely things in life – a cozy bed to nap on, nutritious food, and of course yummy treats when he’s a good boy. Duke already knows several basic obedience commands and will happily 'perform' for you. Sit, stay, lay down and come are all commands he has in his bag of tricks. Duke will make a wonderful companion for the person willing to spend a little time continuing to work on socialization and training with him.

TJ: 6 year old male Domestic Shorthair

Hi everyone, my name's TJ. As you can tell, I'm the type of guy cat that's laid back, but not too laid back. I'm pretty low maintenance and all I want is simply to have love from you. Aside from being low maintenance and laid back, I am a little shy around strangers and it takes me a bit to get used to new faces. But I assure you, I make a good cat pal. I also like sleep, and that includes sleeping on laps. I bet you would be very comfy to lay on! Once we're friends, I am a total love bug and will give you all the attention you want. So, am I a charming enough cat to come home with you?
